The Phoenix – Hospice Sanctuary

The Phoenix is our idea project for Red Sea Coast, Soma Bay, Egypt. It is a contemporary hospice for terminally ill patients. The overall exterior, architectural landscape and nature are inspired by the Phoenix and its egg - the symbol of hope, renewal, continuity of life and immortality. That is why this is an architectural embodiment of rebirth and eternity.

The non-standard organical architectural complex comprises of all the necessary indoor and outdoor spaces for the patients: individual rooms, common room inside, common space outside( that could be open or closed because of the weather) and infrastructure of promenades, library, kitchen and dining room, doctor’s cabinets and fitness, room for music, room for arts, psychological cabinet (located in the head of the bird), a temple - the egg structure.

The Phoenix is definitely one of our most favourite projects,not only because of its exterior - the architectural embodiment of the symbol, but also because it really creates the spirit and atmosphere for serenity, hope, better living and continuity of life.
